Parentage: James Grieve and Golden Delicious

Description: Falstaff is a fairly large apple with a lovely red flush over golden-yellow. The taste has a good balance of sweetness and acidity, crisp and crunchy with lots of juice. Similar in flavour to Cox’s Orange Pippin.

History: A cross between James Grieve and Golden Delicious, introduced in 1971 by East Malling Research, Kent.
