Description: Cedrus deodara 'Aurea', also known as Golden Deodar is a medium-sized evergreen tree, at first conical with drooping leader, later broad-crowned. Needles to 4cm in length, bright golden yellow, becoming greenish-yellow by late summer. Cones rarely formed.
History: This variety has been in cultivation since 1866. Received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
Cedrus Growing Tips: Performs best in full sun, in medium moisture, well drained soils. Tolerant of hot and humid summers. Drought tolerant once established.
