Cornus mas 'Kasanlak'
Description: A very ornamental tree which produces attractive, abundant, small, yellow flowers in February, followed by large pear shaped fruits.
Slightly acid fruit not unlike Morello cherry with a complex, fragrant flavour. Good raw, cooked or dried, for making into highly nutritious jellies and compotes.
Cornus Growing Tips: Thrives in fertile, humus-rich, neutral to acid soil. Unsuitable for shallow, chalky soils.
