Prunus cerasifera 'Hessei'
Description: Deciduous dwarf tree or large shrub bearing pale green leaves on emerging, becoming bronze-purple and irregularly edged creamy white to yellowish or pink. Flowers are snow-white crowding the slender purple shoots in March. If pruned hard after flowering the leaves are more vibrant and the flowers more prolific the following spring.
History: In cultivation since 1906.
Prunus Growing Tips: Best grown in well-drained soil, in full sun to achieve the best flower display and autumn colour. Will tolerate most soil types including chalk, and clay.
