The Charity: Trees for Life

We are privileged to share the same name as a Scottish charity whose prime aim is to preserve and encourage the replanting of the great Caledonian Forest. Here are a few words from their chairman about their organisation.

Trees for Life is an award winning Scottish conservation charity working to restore and regenerate the Caledonian Forest in the Highlands of Scotland and, eventually, to reinstate the missing species of wildlife that formerly lived in the Forest.

They run Volunteer Conservation Work Weeks with hundreds of volunteers every year to plant trees, remove redundant fencing, erect stock exclosures for young seedling protection, collect seeds and do other conservation work. Since 1991 their volunteers have planted almost half a million native trees and protected over 1,100 acres for forest restoration.
