Frank P Matthews Takes Soft Fruit Production In House

The nursery previously traded soft fruit. However, in response to a 20% increase in demand, capacity for 25,000 container grown soft fruit bushes has been added to the Worcestershire site, ready for autumn supply. This commitment will enable the nursery to have a tighter control of supply, quality and availability for our customers.

“We have offered an extensive range of traded soft fruit alongside our trees for many years,” explains Sales Manager Matthew Thomas, “the boost in demand has given us the confidence to invest in a custom built growing bed which is now full of fresh plants ready for the new season. This development forms part of our overall expansion as we anticipate further growth.”

Fruit varieties have been carefully selected to provide an exciting range. Including the most popular varieties as well as some more unusual types of blackberries, blackcurrants, gooseberries, honeyberries, raspberries, redcurrants, saskatoons, tayberries and vines.

All plants are offered in a 3L container to provide consistency of size and shape. Also grown in a peat free compost developed specifically for Frank P Matthews. Garden centres can order any number of plants which can be delivered with fruit and ornamental trees.
