RHS Chelsea Flower Show

Frank P Matthews Trees is proud to return to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026, marking a landmark moment in our history as we celebrate 125 years of tree growing excellence.

Following a successful return to Chelsea last year, our 2026 exhibit builds on this momentum, presenting a refined and thoughtful display that reflects our heritage, horticultural expertise and long-term vision for the future.

Celebrating 125 Years of Growing

Founded in 1901, Frank P Matthews Trees has grown across four generations into one of the UK’s leading premium tree nurseries. Operating across 500 acres in Worcestershire, we produce over one million trees annually, supplying garden centres, landscapers, designers, growers and retail customers nationwide.

Our anniversary year is both a moment of reflection and ambition. For 125 years we have been rooted in craftsmanship, innovation and care for the land, combining traditional nursery skills with modern growing techniques, peat-free production and a strong commitment to sustainability, biodiversity and tree education.

RHS Chelsea Flower Show Malus Trees

Our Chelsea 2026 Exhibit

Our RHS Chelsea exhibit for 2026 celebrates the extraordinary diversity of the Malus (apple) family. Ornamental crab apples are displayed alongside their close relationship to domestic apples and pears, highlighting the often-overlooked beauty of apple blossom as well as fruit.

Visitors will experience a rich palette of flower colours, forms and tree shapes. One of the key challenges in designing this exhibit has been synchronising flowering across the Malus genus, which typically blooms over a 4–6 week period. By bringing varieties into flower simultaneously, the display reveals the full spectrum of blossom at once.

The exhibit also features expertly trained apple and pear trees, demonstrating how these elegant forms can bring structure, beauty and productivity to gardens of any size. All trees have been grown on our Worcestershire nursery in peat-free compost, reflecting more than a century of horticultural expertise and passion.

Sponsors: Lombard Odier

We are delighted that our RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026 exhibit is sponsored by Lombard Odier, the global wealth and asset manager founded in 1796. This partnership brings together two long-standing, multi-generational organisations that share a commitment to stewardship, long-term thinking and sustainability.

Just as we nurture trees over many years to create landscapes for future generations, Lombard Odier focuses on responsible investment and sustainable approaches that support long-term prosperity. Their support has been instrumental in bringing our exhibit to life and enables us to celebrate the beauty and importance of trees with visitors from around the world.

As Steph James of Frank P Matthews Trees comments:
“We are incredibly proud to be returning to RHS Chelsea Flower Show during such an important year for our business. Celebrating 125 years is a moment of reflection as well as ambition for the future. Partnering with Lombard Odier feels like a natural alignment – their commitment to sustainability and long-term thinking mirrors our own values.”

Mark Goddard, UK CEO at Lombard Odier, adds:
“Sustainability has always been part of Lombard Odier’s DNA, reinforced by our heritage as an independent bank owned and run by Partners representing up to the sixth generation of our founding families. Supporting Frank P Matthews Trees at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show allows us to stand alongside another multigenerational family enterprise whose values mirror our own. Trees play a vital role in shaping a more sustainable world.”
