Full Description
Description: Golden Noble is a very handsome cooking apple, one of the best! Pale green-golden yellow with some freckling and light patches of grey russet. It's flesh is sharp, juicy and well flavoured which cooks to a creamy texture, needing very little sugar. Ideal for pies!
History: Discovered in an old orchard by Patrick Flanagan, gardener to Sir Thomas Hare, Stowe Hall, Downham, Norfolk in 1820 and was introduced later on in that year. It is thought that the original tree might have been Pontefract Yorkshire where it is mentioned in 1979.
