Magnolia 'Rustica Rubra' (Dark Red)

Magnolia × soulangeana 'Rustica Rubra'

Description: A large spreading deciduous shrub with ovate, emerald green leaves. The rosy pink flowers, pink-white within are the classic goblet shape and appear mid-season.

History: A Dutch clone raised from seed of M. x soulangeana ‘Lennei’ at the end of the nineteenth century by a Boskoop nurseryman.

Magnolia Growing Tips: Full sun to part shade lover, best grown in consistently moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils. Provide sheltered site as buds and flowers may be damaged by cold winds, and late frosts.
