Acer platanoides Acer

Acer

Description: Acer platanoides, also known as Norway Maple is a robust, large round-headed, fast growing tree. The five lobed leaves are pale, then bright green and mellow yellow colours in the autumn. Clusters of lime green flowers appear during spring. They are tolerant of pollution and very hardy. Received an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.

Acer Growing Tips: Very easy to grow in a wide range of well-drained soils. They thrive in sun but with partial shade to protect the leaves from scorch. A sheltered area away from strong winds is preferred.
