Description: A deciduous, multi branched tree with a pyramidal form, producing globe shaped, claret-red flowers with paler insides in April.
History: Bred by Vance Hooper, Waitara, New Zealand.
Magnolia Growing Tips: Full sun to part shade lover, best grown in consistently moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils. Provide sheltered site as buds and flowers may be damaged by cold winds, and late frosts. Shape and size can be controlled by pruning which should be done either immediately after flowering or during late summer.
