Pinus sylvestris ‘Westonbirt’ Pine

Description: This is a small and irregularly upright plant with thick, needle like, blue-green leaves. Oval to conical, green female cones ripen to grey or reddish brown and may persist on the tree for years.

History: A witches broom discovered by H.J Welch at Westonbirt Arboretum, Tetbury, Gloucestershire in 1985.

Pinus Growing Tips: Requires moist but well-drained soil and a sunny position. Copes with all soil types. Ideal for coastal areas.

Height and Spread (after 10 years): 60cm x 50cm
