Description: Large tree with a broad ovoid crown eventually spreading to 12m wide. Narrow, deeply divided, fern-like bright green leaves, take on attractive yellow autumn tints. Very long drooping catkins once established, followed by winged fruit.

History: Received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.

Pterocarya Growing Tips: Tolerant of most soils, but best in moist well-drained soil in full sun.
