Hickory Tree. Carya is a genus of trees native to North America and India. They are all perfectly hardy in the UK. Pinnate, dark leaves make this an attractive specimen tree. Oval, green fruits, like conkers appear in autumn. Full sun or partial shade are best and they prefer a rich, fertile soil.
