Cotoneaster are popular for their year round interest including attractive white flowers and bright winter berries. Varying from evergreen, semi-evergreen and deciduous, many species provide beautiful autumn colour.
Cotoneaster are versatile plants which range from small trees to ground hugging shrubs, which are great for supressing weeds. These wildlife friendly trees attract pollinators throughout the summer whilst the succeeding berries feed the birds.
Best planted in full sun or partial shade. They thrive in fertile soils but will tolerate any soil as long as it’s well-drained. Cotoneaster are easy to grow and require minimal pruning which can be done throughout the year.
