Lifting Bare Root Trees From The Field 27/10/2017 We are now lifting bare root trees out of the field. The lifting process can take several weeks, depending on the weather. Starting with two year fruit, then maiden fruit, followed by ornamentals and then rootstocks. Trees are bundled into fives then heeled into sawdust or put into cold storage until they are potted or despatched. We grow many more varieties for bare root sales, including lots of unusual and heritage fruit so it’s always worth looking at the bare root list to see if we grow it.
