Parentage: Kidd's Orange Red X Golden Delicious

Description: Gala Galaxy is a more red clone of Gala. Bright orange-red flesh with red stripes over gold; inconspicuous fine russet dots. Medium sized fruit that is ribbed and crowned. Cavity medium, russet lined, stalk long thin, flesh cream. Rich, honeyed, jucy with some of perfumed quality of Kidd's Orange Red. A variety that is grown in all major apple regions!

History: New Zealand raised in 1934 by J Hutton Kidd, Greytown, Wairarapa Valley.
