Reuben®

Blackberry

Description: Reuben is the first primocane blackberry fruiting late summer on current season's growth. Selected for its production of very large fruits that can weigh up to 9g each. Glossy skin and a sweet, juicy flavour. Perfect for eating fresh or used in jams and pies.

History: Developed by the University of Arkansas, USA

Blackberry Growing Tips: Happier planted in a sunny, sheltered site but they can tolerate light shade. Prefer moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. Blackberries are vigorous and need regular pruning. Tie in the shoots of newly-planted canes. Once they reach their first winter, cut back all sideshoots on the main cains. If you would like to eat the fruits yourself, don't forget to cover the plant to stop the birds getting them!
