Jordan Fig

Fig

Description: Jordan is a popular red skinned fruit that produces crops from it's first year. Flesh is bright red, well flavoured and juicy. Delicious eaten fresh or cooked into jams and puddings. Very attractive foliage, very hardy.

Fig Growing Tips: Happy when planted in the ground or in pots, prefer a sunny location, indoors or outdoors. Hard pruning is recommended to encourage young replacement shoots on old 'woody' plants. Figs ooze a white sap when pruned in the spring or summer. This is not harmful but can cause irriration to the skin. Pinching out of strong growing tips in mid summer encourages the development and ripening of the current crop.
