Description: Abies lasiocarpa (Compacta) is a dwarf tree of shrub proportions with attractive bright blueish-grey leaves. Purple young cones are produced occasionally. A very slow growing and naturally dwarf tree, like a mini Christmas tree! A slow-growing conifer making a bushy shape with a broadly conical crown.

Abies Growing Tips: Easy in most conditions and in any reasonably well-drained soil, other than shallow chalk. Prefers to be planted in an open, sunny position.
