Acer saccharinum Maple

Description: Acer saccharinum, also known as the Silver Maple is a fast growing, graceful tree. Delicate cut leaves are silver and downy beneath, producing good gold-yellow autumn colour. Greenish yellow flowers can appear as early as February. Exposed windswept sites should be avoided as the thin upright branches are liable to break.

Acer Growing Tips: Very easy to grow in a wide range of well-drained soils. They thrive in sun but with partial shade to protect the leaves from scorch. A sheltered area away from strong winds is preferred.
