Description: Arbutus andrachne is a beautiful Grecian, evergreen strawberry tree. White, urn-shaped small flowers appear in the autumn alongside red coloured fruits. The stems are cinnamon brown with attractive shedding bark complimented with large green foliage. They can be tender when young trees but become hardier as they mature.

History: Disovered in Europe in 1724.

Arbutus Growing Tips: Arbutus thrive in well-drained soil such as loam, clay or sand. Prefers to be planted in a full sun but in a sheltered position. Good for coastal sites and tolerant of lime.
