Hydrangea paniculata ‘Limelight’ Hydrangea Find a stockist Contact The Tree Shop Back To List Description: 'Limelight' is one of the most winter hardy of the hydrangeas, with a robust, upright and spreading habit. Huge, conical blooms are bright lemon-lime colour in midsummer, fading to cream. These are held on the plant for several months before they transform to a deep pink-burgundy colour in the autumn. As the flower show fades the oval dark green leaves turn to lovely shades of red for a beautiful autumn display. Persisting long into winter the panicles provide additional winter interest. History: Native to China and Japan, this variety is a new Dutch introduction also known as ‘Zwinenburg’ after its raiser Pieter Zwinenburg of Boskoop in Holland bred in 1990. Received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. Hydrangea Growing Tips: Plant in moist, well-drained soil. Performs best in light shade but will tolerate if the soil isn't too dry.
