Hydrangea paniculata ‘Limelight’ Hydrangea

Description: 'Limelight' is one of the most winter hardy of the hydrangeas, with a robust, upright and spreading habit. Huge, conical blooms are bright lemon-lime colour in midsummer, fading to cream. These are held on the plant for several months before they transform to a deep pink-burgundy colour in the autumn. As the flower show fades the oval dark green leaves turn to lovely shades of red for a beautiful autumn display. Persisting long into winter the panicles provide additional winter interest.

History: Native to China and Japan, this variety is a new Dutch introduction also known as ‘Zwinenburg’ after its raiser Pieter Zwinenburg of Boskoop in Holland bred in 1990. Received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
