Description: A sturdy, spreading small tree with medium to large goblet shaped, reddish-purple blooms which appear in April.

History: A hybrid of ‘Burgundy’ x ‘Vulcan’ raised in New Zealand.

Magnolia Growing Tips: Full sun to part shade lover, best grown in consistently moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils. Provide sheltered site as buds and flowers may be damaged by cold winds, and late frosts. Shape and size can be controlled by pruning which should be done either immediately after flowering or during late summer.
