Description: Enormous goblet shaped ivory white flowers similar to M denudata but flowering earlier in life and on a neat spreading tree habit.

History: Raised by Karl Otto Froebelin of Zurich, Switzerland in 1905, and introduced into the trade by W. Keessen of Aalsmeer, Netherlands in 1930-31.

Magnolia Growing Tips: Full sun to part shade lover, best grown in consistently moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils. Provide sheltered site as buds and flowers may be damaged by cold winds, and late frosts. Shape and size can be controlled by pruning which should be done either immediately after flowering or during late summer.
