Description: A sturdy, upright small to medium sized tee with a compact habit. Large goblet-shaped, upright facing, claret-red flowers appear in April on the naked branches, followed by handsome mid-green foliage.

History: Bred by Ian Baldick, South Auckland, New Zealand.

Magnolia Growing Tips: Full sun to part shade lover, best grown in consistently moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils. Provide sheltered site as buds and flowers may be damaged by cold winds, and late frosts. Shape and size can be controlled by pruning which should be done either immediately after flowering or during late summer.
