Magnolia × soulangeana 'Rustica Rubra'

Description: A large spreading deciduous shrub with ovate, emerald green leaves. The rosy pink flowers, pink-white within are the classic goblet shape and appear mid-season.

History: A Dutch clone raised from seed of M. x soulangeana ‘Lennei’ at the end of the nineteenth century by a Boskoop nurseryman.

Magnolia Growing Tips: Full sun to part shade lover, best grown in consistently moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils. Provide sheltered site as buds and flowers may be damaged by cold winds, and late frosts. Shape and size can be controlled by pruning which should be done either immediately after flowering or during late summer.
