Full Description
Description: Grows from a shrub into a small to medium-size tree with a very dense branching and round crown. The young twigs are conspicuously purple coloured which contrasts with the dark green, glossy evergreen foliage. Narrow clusters of fragrant white flowers appear in June, followed by inedible purple berries in late summer.
Prunus Growing Tips: Easy to grow in any moist but well-drained moderately fertile soil in sun or partial shade. Superb hedging shrub and even thrives on poor, shallow, chalky soils.
