Tilia chingiana

Lime, Linden

Description: A rare and beautiful tree with attractive smallish leaves which are offset at the base and unusually shaped with a paler underside. Flowers in July.

History: Native to the provinces of Anhui, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, and Zhejiang in China. Introduced into Ireland in 1938.

Tilia Growing Tips: Grows readily on light or heavy soils and will put up with temporarily soaking ground. Avoid growing in very dry conditions or exposure to very strong winds.

Height and Spread (after 10 years): 6m x 4m
