Tilia henryana 'Arnold Select'

Description: Lovely form of Chinese Lime with a neater more upright habit than the typical species. Dramatic, large, silver backed, dark-green edged pink toothed leaves, resembling “Venus fly trap”. Clusters of fragrant, creamy-white flowers are borne in summer.

History: A selection from the Arnold Arboretum, Boston, USA. Also circulated under the name ‘Boston’.

Tilia Growing Tips: Grows readily on light or heavy soils and will put up with temporarily soaking ground. Avoid growing in very dry conditions or exposure to very strong winds. Ideal for coppicing to show off the golden shoots in winter.
