Family Apple trees have three different varieties grafted onto one stem and come in combinations for differing seasons of eating and/or cooking. The three varieties are selected so they cross-pollinate well and offer a delicious choice of fruit. Perfect if you only have room for one fruit tree in your garden!
Pruning can take place any time of the year. Structural pruning should be done in the winter, and light pruning and shaping in the summer to encourage more flower and fruit for the following year.
We grow our family apple trees grafted onto an MM106 semi-vigorous rootstock and we only supply them as container grown trees.
