A tree that has been grown in the field and then lifted out of the ground when dormant. Available from November to March. The roots are more open and the direct contact with the soil encourages them to settle in and establish more readily.
These are 2yr old trees that have been grown 1yr in the field and the second in a pot. Container trees can be planted at any time of the year but establish best when planted during the autumn and need to be watered well during the first summer.
Cherry
Large black fruit, a garden favourite. One of the first self fertile varieties to appear. Upright and strong growth.
Very large self fertile cherry, high yields from an early age. Dark red, firm and juicy with a sweet, aromatic, true cherry taste.
Chestnut
Shiny, mahogany brown coloured nuts. Mid to late season cropping. Partially self-fertile. Good pollen producer and pollinator.
Produces a good crop of large, high quality brown nuts with good storage life. Delicious roasted and in sauces.
Shiny green leaves and fragrant blossom in summer, delicious brown nuts in October. More compact than other Sweet Chestnuts.
A late season variety. Produces shiny, dark mahogany large nuts in early autumn which are very good in quality.
Fig
Large brown, pear-shaped fruit with a sugary, rich, red flesh and good compact habit. Reliable and easy to grow.
Filbert
Slightly larger than the Cobnut with a long husk and excellent flavour. A very good pollinator for other varieties.
Miracot
Mirabelle x Apricot. A wonderfully sweet and juicy egg-shaped fruit. Yellow with a pretty red blush.
Mulberry
Large and succulent fruit cropping early in life. An intensely rich flavour, eat fresh or cook. Small, wide spreading.
A unique mulberry that fruits from an early age. Can be grown in a container. Protect from frost.
Small weeping tree. The small, white fruits turn reddish-pink as they mature.
