A tree that has been grown in the field and then lifted out of the ground when dormant. Available from November to March. The roots are more open and the direct contact with the soil encourages them to settle in and establish more readily.
These are 2yr old trees that have been grown 1yr in the field and the second in a pot. Container trees can be planted at any time of the year but establish best when planted during the autumn and need to be watered well during the first summer.
Sycamore
New foliage emerges shrimp pink, turning yellow-green with purple undersides. Pendulous yellow flowers.
Slow growing, broadly spreading tree. Leaves variegated with cream, pink and purple. Gold and bronze autumn colour.

Red Maple
Brilliant red leaves turn to a reddish-purple. One of the best rubrums for a spectacular display of autumn colour.
Glossy green leaves turning brilliant red in the autumn holding its leaves quite late. A reliable, attractive tree.
Medium-sized tree with a compact, narrow columnar crown. Autumn colours of purple and orange hues.
Long lasting autumn colours. A vigorous grower when young with a symmetrical ovate crown later.
Snake Bark Maple
White striated bark. Dark green leaves, bright reddish-yellow autumn colours. Broadly columnar, medium sized.
Maple
Moonrise or Fullmoon Maple. Dramatic autumn burnt-orange and red foliage. Cream and pink flowers in the spring.
Deciduous, upright, spreading tree with scarlet red samaras contrasting with the rich green foliage before the leaves change.
Freeman's Maple
Spectacular, bright orange red leaves in the autumn. A hybrid of Acer rubrum and saccharinum. Silvery-grey bark.
