Weeping Giant Sequoia
Description: A conifer with a bizarre growth pattern, the branches are tightly pendulous and conform to the trunk, which can be straight, but is more often twisting or leaning in one or more directions. The foliage is grey-green in colour, typical to the species.
History: Originated as a seedling selected in 1863 at Lalande Nursery, Nantes France. Élie-Abel Carrière described it and first published its cultivar name in 1867 in Traité Général des Conifères.
Sequoiadendron Growing Tips: Grow in moderately fertile, well-drained soil in full sun or light dappled shade. Lime tolerant.
