Over 300 different varieties of apples were selected from the nursery’s mother orchards and displayed on a long table, each with a detailed information card. The exhibit attracted a great deal of interest on the day with many visitors impressed by the extensive collection which included well-known eaters such as Scrumptious and Red Windsor as well as more unusual cookers, ciders and crabs.
We are delighted to have this recognition from the RHS, this is the first time we have entered our apple display so to get a Gold medal is a real endorsement of our efforts. It takes several days to gather up all the fruit and we put a lot of time in making sure all the information is correct.
The display will next be exhibited at Applefest in Tenbury Wells on Saturday 6th October and then in the Tree Shop at Frank P Matthews in Worcestershire until the end of the month.
