Cornus x 'Stellar Pink'
Description: Vigorous, compact, upright, deciduous tree with oval to elliptic, dark green leaves turning reddish-purple in autumn. The bracts that surround the true flowers, give the appearance of a single, large, 4-petaled, pink flower. No fruit is produced.
History: Bred by Elwin R.Orton, Jr. from the Rutgers University of New Jersey, USA, and patented in 1988.
Cornus Growing Tips: Thrives in fertile, humus-rich, neutral to acid soil. Unsuitable for shallow, chalky soils.
