Winter Banana


Description: Winter Banana is a later dessert apple. Known to develop an aromatic flavour and scent of banana and very juicy when ripe. Large, smooth skinned with a bright red flush on yellow background. Flesh is creamy white. Rather soft and coarse-textured, moderately juicy, and sweet, with pleasant aromatic flavour.

History: Raised on farm of David Flory near Adamsboro, Cass Country, Indiana, USA in 1876. Later introduced in 1890. Received an Award of Merit from Royal Horticultural Society in 1912.
