Parentage: Cox’s Orange Pippin x Idared
Description: Fiesta is a tradtional English apple, an excellent garden tree with Cox-like characteristics. It's flavour is rich, aromatic and sweet with a crisp texture but rather tough skin. Flush is orange/red with short red stripes, slightly ribbed. A variety which is ideal for northern areas and is a very heavy cropper. Although classed as an eating apple, it can also be used for cooking and juicing keeping its delicious flavour and shape when cooked. Fiesta is a very popular variety which is grown commercially in Kent, Holland, Italy and New Zealand, but also a popular garden variety!
History: Developed in the 1970s at the East Malling Research Station in Kent, England. Received an Award of Garden Merit from Royal Horticultural Society.
