Cornus florida 'Sunset'

Dogwood

Description: Cornus florida 'Sunset' also known as Cherokee Sunset grows from a shrub into a small, multi-stemmed tree with a broad, somewhat irregular, round crown. In spring the new foliage has a quirky pink-hued edge which turns to yellow with a green centre as the foliage matures over the summer. Foliage then turns to a deep purple red in the autumn. Also showcases large, creamy pink flower bracts surrounding tiny green inner flowers during spring. A small ornamental tree, Cornus Florida Sunset is ideal for urban gardens.

Cornus Growing Tips: Thrives in fertile, humus-rich, neutral to acid soil. Unsuitable for shallow, chalky soils.

Height and Spread (after 10 years): 4m x 4m
