Cotinus coggygria 'Grace'
Description: A bushy tree or shrub with large rounded mid-green leaves, turning vivid purple-orange-red colours before falling in autumn. In summer it is covered with a smoky haze of soft open flower plumes, giving it a smoke-like appearance.
History: Raised in the late 1970s by Hillier Nurseries propagator, Peter Dummer as part of the series from the same cross known as Dummer Hybrids. Received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
Cotinus Growing Tips: Best planted in full sun or partial shade position with moist but well-drained chalk, clay, sand or loam soil.
