Crowngold Apple

Apple

Description: Crowngold is a coloured form of Jonagold. Fruits are bright red with a slight russet. Flesh is a creamy white colour. Flavour is juicy, rich and sweet. Centre leader trees are strongly recommended to support the crop of large, heavy apples. Best when they're picked and eaten straight from the tree but also an excellent keeping variety that can be stored right up until March.

History: A red form of Apple Jonagold. Raised at the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station, Geneva, New York, USA.
