Sweetheart® Cherry

Parentage: Van x Newstar

Description: Sweetheart is one of the later picking varieties but well worth the wait as fewer cherries available in the shops at this time. Fruits are very precocious, firm with good sweet flavour. Dark red in colour. Ripens unevenly to spread the season. A good pollinator for other cherries.

History: Developed at the Summerland Research Station, Canada in 1990.
