Oullins Golden Gage Back To List Description: Oullins Golden is a large, dual-purpose variety that produces heavy crops of golden yellow fruit of good gage-like flavour. Flesh is pale yellow when ripe changing to greenish yellow, fairly juicy, pleasant flavour and not very sweet. Can be picked early for cooking. Excellent for cooking, bottling and freezing. History: Introduced by nurseryman M Massot of Oullins, France around 1860. Recieved an Award of Garden Merit by Royal Horticultural Society.
