Acer campestre ‘Carnival’ Acer

Acer

Description: Acer campestre 'Carnival' is a spectacular variegated form of Field Maple. A densley branched, slow growing tree that's perfect for small gardens. The bold, white leaf margins and pink growing tips make this a cheerful and distinctive shrub or small tree all through the summer. The foliage turns into a buttery yellow colour during the autumn. Perfect for planting in public spaces such as parks and narrow streets.

History: Found as a seedling in the Netherlands before 1989.

Acer Growing Tips: Grows on chalk and quite acid soil, also on waterlogged sites. They thrive in sun but with partial shade in an open spaced area. Prune hard in the winter to increase leaf size for a more dramatic effect.
