Acer campestre ‘Red Shine’ Acer

Acer

Description: Acer campestre 'Red Shine' is a small-medium sized tree, with a narrow pyramidal habit. New leaves are crimson in spring, fading to mauve/green in summer. Stunning yellow leaves during the autumn. They create an abundance of yellow-greenish flowers in May that later develop into pairs of winged seeds. Perfect for planting in public spaces such as parks and narrow streets. Also very valuable for bees and butterflies.

History: Originates from the Netherlands during the 1980s.

Acer Growing Tips: Very easy to grow in a wide range of well-drained soils. They thrive in sun but with partial shade to protect the leaves from scorch. A sheltered area away from strong winds is preferred.
