Description: Acer negundo 'Elegans' is a a stunning fast growing small tree or large shrub. The pale green leaves are brightly margined with broad yellow variegation. Young shoots have a white bloom. The tree creates a pendulous shape. Good for coppicing like all Acer negundo.

History: Introduced in 1885. Received a First Class Certificate from the Royal Horticultural Society in 1898.

Acer Growing Tips: Very easy to grow in a wide range of well-drained soils. They thrive in sun but with partial shade to protect the leaves from scorch. A sheltered area away from strong winds is preferred.
