Description: Large, fastigiate tree becoming broadly columnar with age. The young lemon green leaves mature to bright lime green, then turning orange-brown in autumn and remaining on the branches throughout the winter.
History: Originally discovered within the Dawyck estate in Peeblesshire, Scotland. First produced and sold commercially in 1912 by Hesse nursery.
Fagus Growing Tips: They will grow in most soils provided they are not waterlogged, and will tolerate most sites except coastal. They prefer full sun or partial shade.
