Magnolia x soulangeana
Description: Flowering at a relatively young age, the large, scented flowers are pink on the outside, white inside.
History: Selection from Castle Beugnon in France.
Magnolia Growing Tips: Full sun to part shade lover, best grown in consistently moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils. Provide sheltered site as buds and flowers may be damaged by cold winds, and late frosts. Shape and size can be controlled by pruning which should be done either immediately after flowering or during late summer.
