Description: Tilia tomentosa 'Petiolaris' also known as Weeping Silver Lime is a round headed tree with graceful downward sweeping branches. Dark green leaves are white felted underneath, and turn attractive shades of golden yellow before falling in autumn. The cup shaped, creamy yellow, richly scented flowers are narcotic to bees.
History: In cultivation since 1840.Received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
Tilia (Weeping Silver Lime) Growing Tips: Grows readily on light or heavy soils and will put up with temporarily soaking ground. Avoid growing in very dry conditions or exposure to very strong winds.
