Description: Thiessen is the largest fruiting Saskatoon and one of the earliest. Very productive and reliable, high in vitamin C and fibre. Berries are dark purple, sharp tangy flavours. Amazing autumn colours and stunning spring blossom. Great for cooking!
History: Discovered in Sasketchewan, Canada in 1906.
Juneberry Growing Tips: Can be planted in any good, well-drained soil in a full sun or partial shade location. Their first crop is usually seen after two years of planting. Avoid planting them in a frost pocket. If you would like to eat the fruits yourself, don't forget to cover the plant to stop the birds getting them!
